Twenty-three percent of the patients have undergone a previous intervention, while nearly 70 percent of those surveyed stated that the factor most valued by patients when it comes to undergoing an aesthetic intervention is the direct recommendation of friends. In fact, 75 percent of patients come to the consultation from word-of-mouth, with price being the second most valued aspect. The president of SECPRE, Carles Liébana, criticized the fact that "there is a significant legal vacuum in Spanish and Catalan regulations regarding this type of intervention", and called for clear regulations on these practices.
