Updated: “Kodak Pro Image 100 Film Review.”

Pro Image is my go-to ISO 100 color-negative film. I've been using it since 2017. Since I shared my review of this film stock in 2022, I've explored it further — including pushing it two stops to ISO 400, overexposing for softer pastel tones, and refining my scanning methods. This update incorporates everything I've learned about the film and photography over the last three years.

What I appreciate most about this film is its adaptability, stability on the shelf, and straightforward scanning process. Of course, it has its limitations; it doesn't perform well in overcast conditions or artificial light. However, when conditions are right, it delivers outstanding results.

In this update, I've highlighted all the techniques for achieving the best colors with this film. To showcase my experience with it in truly warm climates (for which Pro Image is intended), I rescanned and restored images I captured in 2018 while residing in Chiang Mai, Thailand. That was quite the adventure, I must say. It was also labor-intensive — I spent hours cleaning dust and scratches from one of the frames.

I’m finally proud of this review once again — and I hope you enjoy it as well. Don’t forget that you can download it as a professionally formatted PDF for your convenience.

Thank you for reading and for your support!
