This marks RETO's first venture into digital products, having focused on selling film and manufacturing film cameras since 2019. The CHARMERAs are branded with Kodak, sized like a pendant, and come in blind boxes, meaning you won’t know which of the seven designs you’ll receive. Alternatively, you can purchase a complete set of six (excluding the limited edition) for $180, with individual cameras priced at $30.RETO indicates that the design of the CHARMERA is inspired by the Kodak Fling, Kodak's inaugural 110 disposable camera launched in the 1980s. The CHARMERA features a quarter-inch CMOS sensor with a 35mm š’‡2.4 lens, capable of saving 1.6MP 1440x1080 JPEG images or 30 fps AVI videos on a Micro SD card, operated by a USB-C rechargeable 200mAh battery. Its dimensions are 58mm Ɨ 24.5mm Ɨ 20mm and it weighs 30g. A memory card (1GB-128GB) must be provided separately.I’m sharing a few appealing samples I received from RETO below. I love how compact and colorful these devices are. RETO has certainly captured the essence of vintage Kodak packaging and print design. While I don't require another small digital camera at the moment, I feel quite proud of my decision to resist this tempting option! However, if I were to get one, I'd probably dive into experimenting with filters and borders before settling on the standard setting. Additionally, I’m still exploring the RETO PANO (analog.cafe/r/reto-pano-re…), which has been great with producing impressive images, especially with high-contrast black-and-white films. #editorialšŸ”„ #gasDmitri Sep 10, '25, edited on Sep 10, '25The Complete Set of KODAK CHARMERA cameras, all packaged in their vibrant blind boxes.Dmitri Sep 10, '25Dmitri Sep 10, '25All seven models, including the limited-edition ā€œSecret Transparentā€ camera (located in the center). I particularly like the 1987 Kodak, the red Kodak, and the cream geometric design. Dmitri Sep 10, '25Here’s a sample photo taken with CHARMERA that features a frame reminiscent of MS Paint. Dmitri Sep 10, '25Some frames can occupy quite a bit of space. Dmitri Sep 10, '25Dmitri Sep 10, '25Certain filters reminded me of Instagram in its early days when it aimed to make digital photos resemble film images taken with iPhones. Dmitri Sep 10, '25And here’s how the JPEGs from CHARMERA appear without any filters or frames.
