Where to Develop, Scan, and Print Film in Bali

      Bali features several film labs, each offering a diverse range of services. Below is a summarized overview of the labs we visited, highlighting their locations, pricing, and additional notes.       **Saujana**

      - **Location:** Jl. Tegal Sari No.24, Tibubeneng, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia. [Google Maps](#).

      - **Hours:** Open from 11 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Saturday.

      - **Development:** Processes film with C-41, black-and-white, and ECN-2 chemicals, but does not offer E-6.

      - **Scans:** Scans 35mm film using Noritsu and medium format using Konica Minolta scanners. Delivers 8-bit TIFF files upon request, with scans set to default settings. Scans are sent via Google Drive.

      - **Processing Time:** Film is processed the same day if submitted before 2 PM, though this can vary. ECN-2 and black-and-white films require a queue of 3-4 rolls to be processed.

      - **Storage:** Negatives are held for one month.

      - **Prices:** C-41: 50K IDR, ECN-2: 70K IDR, black-and-white: 60K IDR.

      - **Film for Sale:** At the time of our visit, they had Kodak Tri-X, Kodak T-Max, Fuji 400 and 200, Kodak Colorplus, Kodak Ultramax, and Kodak ProImage 100; stock is not refrigerated.

      - **Issues:** Processes ECN-2 in C-41 after removing the remjet layer, which can result in a deep red film base color. Some scans may appear greenish due to scanning limitations. Development is done manually, leading to possible problems with equipment. The lab does not provide prints.

      **(Lab)rana**

      - **Location:** Gg. Asri I No.42, Tibubeneng, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia. [Google Maps](#).

      - **Hours:** Open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM, and may notify via Instagram if closed.

      - **Development:** Offers processing with C-41, black-and-white, and ECN-2 chemicals, but does not provide E-6. Only accepts 35mm film.

      - **Scans:** Uses Noritsu scanners for 35mm film, with options for 16-bit color scans available at an additional cost. Regular scans are sent via Google Drive.

      - **Processing Time:** C-41 takes 2-3 hours (longer if TIFFs are requested), black-and-white is completed within one day, and ECN-2 within 2-3 days. Negatives are held for two months.

      - **Prices:** C-41: 50K IDR, ECN-2: 70K IDR, black-and-white: 60K IDR.

      - **Film for Sale:** Stock included Kodak Ultramax, Kodak Gold, some Kodak Vision 3 films, Ilford Pan 100/400, and Fomapan films; film is not refrigerated.

      - **Notes:** The lab can process film with a pre-bath step to remove the remjet, and may process in actual ECN-2 developer if equipment is available.

      **OJISAN**

      - **Development:** Handles C-41, black-and-white (D-76), and real Kodak ECN-2 chemicals, excluding E-6. The lab has provided good results for all types.

      - **Scans:** Scanning available with either Noritsu or Frontier machines as specified by the customer, with options for TIFFs and low-contrast scans. Scans are sent via Google Drive.

      - **Processing Time:** C-41 completed within one day, black-and-white within 3-5 days, and ECN-2 also within 3-5 days. Negatives are kept for one month.
