Updated: film Q, a web application designed for batch inverting film negatives. The new version, v1.0.0-beta.6, includes several significant bug fixes along with an added feature called Auto Start. With the Auto Start option enabled, film Q automatically processes files immediately after they are uploaded. This can enhance workflow efficiency, particularly when scanning directly into your Dropbox folder. For instance, you can create a designated folder on your computer that will automatically invert your negatives once you add your files to it. You can watch this video for a demonstration: youtube.com/watch?v=xQk2gy…. This update also addresses issues with dark or distorted outputs when processing DNG files generated by Silverfast scanner software and simplifies the user interface by reducing the number of buttons. For more details, see the help documentation: analog.cafe/app/film-q/help.

      Invert v1.2-beta

Invert is the computer vision component of film Q. It determines values for histogram equalization and oversees camera RAW interpreter software. This update enhances the image area detection mechanism, which had previously led to blank frames with certain scan types. Version v1.2-beta also improves saturation levels for camera RAW formats and optimizes colors on frames that might have scanning issues along the edges.
