      Correction.

Earlier, I mistakenly referred to the method that sets the black-and-white points of an image to their maximum values as “histogram equalization.” This is not accurate. The correct terms for this technique are “histogram stretching” or “normalization.”

I have updated all articles and documentation to reflect either “histogram stretching” or “normalization” in relation to this subject.

You can find more information about histogram stretching here: analog.cafe/r/how-to-inver….

While “histogram normalization” is not the correct term for what I've been discussing, it is still a different image processing technique.

Earlier, I mentioned the method that adjusts the black-and-white points of an image to their highest values as "histogram equalization." That was a mistake. This method is actually referred to as "histogram stretching" or "normalization."
