All Comments☝️ SearchDmitri Jan 31, ‘25 editMyriad is an innovative multi-format holder designed for scanning film using digital cameras. This new creation from CUTASUNDA, led by Michael Swift in North East England, accommodates virtually all roll film formats including 110, APS, 126, 135, 127, 120/220, etc. You can purchase the holder directly from the CUTASUNDA website for £99.95 ($125): cutasunda.com/products.html — or take part in the Myriad giveaway at Pentax Forums, which runs until February 21st: pentaxforums.com/articles/… Myriad underwent over two years of development to guarantee safe, scratch-free film transport, dependability, and flat film scanning. To use it, you must provide your own light source — a high-CRI LED light panel (like the excellent Raleno PLV-S192) is recommended. Additionally, you'll need a digital camera and a stand. Myriad allows for scanning negatives up to 6x9 in size while keeping the film flat with a maximum variance of 0.4mm (though it may struggle with extremely curled film). The holder is crafted from high-quality plastics that are precision laser-cut, which melts the material during the process, resulting in a perfectly smooth finish. The finely-textured diffuser panel prevents the occurrence of Newton rings. The adjustable film guides make it simple to switch between different film sizes. This one impressed me the most. Dmitri Jan 31, ‘25Update: Michael responded with corrections and added information regarding handling curled film:
“Myriad works very well with flat and moderately curved films. However, very severely curved films may not feed through it properly. In such cases, you can remove the top panel, lay the negatives directly on the diffuser, and then put the top panel back. This allows for normal digitisation. It’s a workaround, but it is effective and mentioned in the documentation.”
