Reveni Labs has introduced LUMO, a $140 compact incident and reflective light meter featuring a full-color display. This new device is capable of taking readings for both ambient and flash lighting. It can also offer insights on incident color temperature, the flash-to-ambient light ratio, flash duration, and discharge curve analysis. Additionally, it includes Cine Incident and Cine Reflective modes, allowing for shutter angle and framerate selections.

LUMO operates using a user-replaceable NiMH rechargeable battery that can be recharged through a built-in USB-C port. For flash operation, it utilizes a high-voltage compatible 3.5mm trigger port. The display features a 1.1” full-color LCD.

The project has just launched on Kickstarter: kickstarter.com/projects/m… While I don't often use external meters myself (I usually rely on a built-in meter or the Sunny 16 rule: analog.cafe/r/master-the-s…), this device appears to be quite beneficial for film production and photography metering, especially when precision is needed regarding flash calculations.

This marks Matt Bechberger's (owner of Reveni Labs) fifth Kickstarter project. It achieved 20% of its funding goal within just a few minutes of launching at 9 AM PST. If it reaches its full funding in the next 30 days (which it is expected to), LUMO will go into production in March and begin shipping later in the year.
